Parsa Duo with Elisabeth Remy Johnson
Remy Johnson and Henderson worked and performed together extensively as fellow music students in Boston in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Working with and inspired by leading musicians, they shared a keen sense of joy and appreciation for the high quality of music making that surrounded them. As adults both left the Boston area and forged their own paths as musicians.
Reconnected in early 2015 through Bach in the Subways, the two formed a duo dedicated to cultivating the inspiration, joy and fine music making they discovered together as students. That summer Parsa Duo launched inaugural recitals in New York and New England, and in 2016 presented a new, richly varied program in Boston and Yarmouth Port. Highlights of their third season in 2017 saw a Rio de Janeiro tour in May, a new program of folk songs and folk dances by well known classical composers in Massachusetts in August, and an oversold an appearance at Bainbridge Island’s Bloedel Reserve near Seattle for Labor Day weekend.
